This passed down authentic traditional Greek gyro recipe is used to coat the gorgeous free range lamb, chicken & Pork. We thread it onto the rod and sit it above hot coals for approx 4 hours before slicing off pieces of heaven.

The amazing flavor starts with the scent which can be smelt blocks away.

The meat is marinated 24 hours prior to ensure the best infusion and full flavor of your gyro.

The secret recipe is tomato based, ensuring the meat is kept moist and juicy throughout the entire cook.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPITS

WE NEED 48 HOURS NOTICE

We need at least 48 hours notice for gyro orders so we can marinate the meat.

Gyro can come in bags for you to thread on yourself or we can thread it on your rod or the spit you hire. No charge for threading the meat on the spit. We do not thread meat during Christmas week.

There is usually a good amount of marinade that comes with the spit, if you require extra please specify when placing the order.

The Rod with meat needs to be kept in a cool place if keeping overnight. Due to the size, we recommend you keep rod with meat inside a bathtub with bags of ice to keep cool.

The spits for hire are always checked for good working order prior to customer pickup. If for any reason the machine does not work, please advise immediately.

General cooking questions can be asked over the phone also anytime during the business hours however we do not provide on site tutorials or troubleshooting unless a machine is faulty.

ORDERING YOUR SPIT

AUTHENTIC TRADITIONAL GREEK GYRO

You can pick the type of meat you have on the spit, it can be pork (neck), lamb (shoulder) and chicken (thighs & Maryland fillets). The amounts and ratios are also required with your order and of course the pattern in which you wish the meat to be threaded on.

Small spits- for 2-12kg 4-24 people
Hire is $50 $50 deposit. Deposit is returned with spit return.
Large spits for 12+kg or more usually good for large gatherings 25 people plus –
Hire is $100 deposit is $100, upon delivery of spit machine
Deposit is returned once spit is returned clean and in working order.
Rod, motor, spit, all included.
Coals and starters not provided.
Upon return, all spits much be cleaned out of coal and black ash.
Keep on dry stable surface while cooking-concrete preferable.
